Empower Youth with Drone Technology! Support the Unami Schools Drone Training Program

Summary

South Africa’s youth unemployment crisis leaves thousands of matriculants without opportunities. The Unami Schools Drone Training Program, a project of Unami Foundation, aims to change that by equipping unemployed matriculants with in-demand drone technology skills for employability and entrepreneurship.

Your support will help train the next generation of drone pilots and data specialists.

Our Goal

Raise R2 000,000 to fund the training of 50 unemployed matriculants in the Amajuba District.

The Problem

South Africa has a youth unemployment rate of over 60%.
Thousands of matriculants are left without placements in universities or colleges.
Drone technology is a booming industry, but training is expensive.
Existing drone training programs exclude unemployed matriculants due to strict eligibility criteria.

Our solution? A fully-sponsored bridging-year drone training program for unemployed matriculants.

Why Drone Technology?

Tech-driven learning – Students gathered around an instructor, analyzing drone flight data on a laptop or tablet, representing the technical training aspect.

Growing Demand: Industries like agriculture, security, mining, logistics, and filmmaking need drone operators.
High-Income Potential: Trained drone pilots can start their own businesses or work as specialists.
Future-Proof Careers: Drone technology is part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
No University Needed: A certified drone pilot can earn a salary without a degree.
